Opening a DSB Student account is very easy. If you have all the required documents you can send them together with the completed applications form to Retailbanking@dsb.sr. Not later than 5 working days you will receive an e-mail with your account number. Next we ask you to visit the nearest office of De Surinaamsche Bank together with a valid proof of identity to sign the banking conditions and a first deposit. You will receive your ATM-card and pin mailer of your new account that you can use immediately.

A) Proof of identity (at least 2 types)

• Passport
• Driving licence
• ID card
• PSA card
• Family record book
  • Certificate of residence, CBB extract, from the legal representative (not older than one month)

B) Bewijs van inschrijving van de school

• Certificate of school or college of the current year
• Student ID/Student pass

C) Address verification:

• Certificate of residence (CBB extract)

D) Valid e-mail address

*If the legal representative is not yet a DSB account holder, please bring the following documents:

• Employer's declaration/pay check, not older than three months (for non-Surinamese citizens 3 last bank statements or reference letter (if you are a current accountholder with another bank)
• 2 forms of identification
• Certificate of residence, CBB extract, from the legal representative (not older than one month)

 If a third person is the sponsor (who will maintain the account) please bring:

• 2 forms of identification (for non-Surinamese residents a passport is required)
• Employer's declaration/pay check, not older than three months (for non-Surinamese residents a reference letter or bank statements from the foreign bank)
• Certificate of residence, CBB extract
